The Swan at Mirfield enjoys a prominent position on the main road between Huddersfield and Dewsbury in the heart of West Yorkshire. Punch Partnerships have plans to invest £90,000 into this prime site and transform the Swan into a modern contemporary venue with a food offer and a thriving live entertainments programme. The final details of the scheme will be agreed with our new business partner.

Mirfield is a small town which lies between Huddersfield and Wakefield. It is in close proximity to Junction 25 of the M62 making it an ideal location to live for those commuting to Manchester, Leeds, Huddersfield and Wakefield. The population of Mirfield is 18,621. The canal which links the River Calder with other rivers in the area and is part of the Calder & Hebble Navigation is still used by recreational users and there will be an opportunity to tempt these tourists into the beautifully refurbished Swan.

Post refurbishment the Swan will have three distinct trading sessions. Early morning will be for Breakfast and Coffee. The offer at this time will be good quality coffee and pastries with a Wi-Fi offer for business people to meet, or mother and baby groups to catch up. At lunch time the offer will be pastries, deli style sandwiches, & Panini’s.

Weekday evenings the transformed Swan will attract the after work crowd for a cold bottle of beer or a crisp glass of wine which can be enjoyed outdoors on the patio during the summer months. Weekends should see the Swan providing a fashionable wine bar type of establishment by night with a chic feel to it that will aim to attract people not just from the immediate vicinity.

Trade Areas

The planned refurbishment will transform the Swan into a modern café, wine bar which will be light and airy with a mixture of tables and chairs with booths where customers can sit and chat, watch TV or just sit and read a newspaper.

The internal trading areas will remain open plan and the café bar style doors will open out onto the patio area.

The catering kitchen which is immediately behind the bar servery is just the right size for the planned food offer.

The Swan has the advantage of having a surface cellar and also the good sized car park with parking for approximately 30 cars is adjacent to the building.

To summarise the newly refurbished Swan will be the only establishment of its kind in the area and it will be the envy of many.

The first floor living accommodation is spacious and airy and would be suitable for a family. There is a kitchen diner and a lounge, a separate office and three good sized bedrooms.
